Do you mean that religion that encourages us to over-reproduce, consume every non-renewable resource, exterminate every other non-food species, poison the only habitable planet within a hundred light-years, while promising salvation through some Tebowesque entity? Yeah, sure.

1). Yes, Noot, but having a woman support your worthless ass until you have tired of her and throw her away like a used Kleenex, all the while claiming to be such an extraordinary Christian that God speaks to you personally isn’t a recognized religion, it’s a sociopathic disorder.
2). This is why it’s so important to keep politics and religion separate. Not all religions are as much biased against logic as Christianity, but all religions involve belief structures which in some way oppose accepted scientific theory. When these beliefs are held by intolerant people, it leads either to the kind of schizophrenia observable in the Republican fringe, or to colonizing out-of-the-way territories and wearing funny hats while shunning electricity, the internal combustion engine, and all scientific advances in modern medicine.
3). Mitch’s comments are as bootless as he is chinless — probably more so. Obama got the raspberry from congress so loud and so often that reports from the House and Senate have sounded more like a congregation of Junior League diva’s having a hissy fit.

I never cared for the pink ribbonosity. Something just was not right. Did you ever find yourself in a mall that was hosting “the ribbon?” The mob of women, relatives, friends camped out there for a weekend and were frenzied in their chanting, singing, testifying. It was over the top and in your face. I would “not wear the ribbon.” The republican connection makes perfect sense, the disgusting part is what they are trying to do to planned parenthood. grrrrr…..
I sent my local chapter of the Komen Foundation an email telling them I won’t be giving them any more money and instead will be increasing my donation to PP. Fuck them with a rusty chainsaw.
RE: Newt and “our” religion – I can’t but help think of this video clip of Penn Jilette discussing religion in the 2012 election cycle. The guy has a point on how the Right branded “Christianity”. Seems like the the factions of “Christianity” might be turning on each other. Bonus insight: Penn’s most blasphemous political figure? One L!
