Think of all the retail that they do, how they protect their trademarks and how seriously they take their branding. And then ask yourself what do they really contribute to the cause? What is their value-add (as we say in Silicon Valley).

The United Way used to throw around some hefty salaries. Liddy Dole pulled in $200K, and that was probably 20 years ago.
Geez, Komen pulled in like $36 million last year from investments alone. They don’t need the money from peons anymore, but they’ll still take it.
I’ve had a lot of disgust for this group for a few years now. The hell with their “awareness” campaigns. Start funneling that money into universities that are researching cancer cures or stfu. Seriously. Get the universities off the pharmaceutical dole and back into financially independent research. Make sure the research becomes public domain and not funneled into the back pocket of some PI’s bogus off-shoot LLC. Then I’ll start listening. If you’re not funding preventative screening, wtf are you doing? Don’t tell me “spreading awareness” or so help me I’ll punch you straight in the whiskers.
