The Morning Quote

“Satan has his sights on the United States of America!… Satan is attacking the great institutions of America, using those great vices of pride, vanity, and sensuality as the root to attack all of the strong plants that has so deeply rooted in the American tradition.”

–Rick Santorum, 2008

…and then today he walks back from it, kinda:

Asked whether he still thinks that Satan is attacking the United States, Santorum called the inquiry “not relevant to what’s being discussed in America today.”

Earlier, he pledged to “defend everything I say” after noting that people might worry about his statements because he isn’t “robotic” like some of the more “commoditized candidates.”

Keep f***ing that chicken, Rick.

Well jeepers- pride and vanity are two that Ricky suffers from. And he sure was certain about the whole Satan thing. Could it be that he had some inside information? Hmmm…. Ricky?

  3. PWL:

Well, Rick’s kinda right, if ya look at it from his (warped)point of view.

Per “Opus Dick” (stole that one from another website), “what’s relevant to what’s being discussed in America today” is “what’s up with spermatozoa, where are they going, and are they being prevented, each and every one of them, from fulfilling their Holy Purpose?” (Cue “Every Sperm is Sacred” from “The Meaning of Life”…)

Yep, THAT’S “what’s relevant to what’s being discussed in America,” in a time of high unemployment, economic downtown, economic inequality, wars and imminent wars, and God know what else….

Ted’s right; I’m suspicious, too. Ricky may be in cahoots with some bad company. Even worse than Republicans.

What about the weak plants? And gravity?
