Robotic magical panties enthusiast Willard chose a football stadium to make a triumphant address to Detroit, and, um, no one came:
Before 1,200 guests of the Detroit Economic Club, Romney took to the podium on the 30 yard line of Ford Field stadium — home of the NFL’s Detroit Lions — surrounded by 65,000 empty seats.
Stick a fork in him, he’s done.
1200 seems like a generous estimate.

I nearly wrote that it’s too bad there isn’t video on the debacle so one could see how many “audience members” were actually dummies. But then I remembered that these people came out to hear Willard speak.
Oops, someone left out the “contact supporters to bus contents of every retirement home within 500 mile radius to stadium” algorithm in The Romney’s HoldARally subroutine. Probably that lowest-bidder Indian subcontractor again…

Badtux, the retirees found out about the speech beforehand, and decided Social Security reductions, rMoney’s topic of the day, was not to their liking.
@zombie rotten mcdonald I can only agree. It looks like about 20 rows of people and less than 50 per row. A three digit crowd number would have sounded incredibly sad, so they pushed it over 1,000 by just enough to make it sound believable.
He’s showing himself to be a worse candidate than John Kerry or Michael Dukakis, and those are low bars to limbo under.
