- How will the GOP find their way home? - Pity the poor wingnut, alone in the wilderness. Good thing that unthinking Mean Girl radio host Laura Ingraham is there to help! Why not return to the Southern Strategy? (Crooks and Liars)
- Elegant turn of phrase - And while Ingraham was dreaming of Dixie, bathtub-drowning enthusiast Grover Norquist said that Obama does not deserve a claim to a mandate because the candidate Republicans put forth to challenge him, Mitt Romney, was portrayed as a “poopy head.” (TPM)
- Another viewpoint - Ah, the wailing and gnashing of teeth, this time from an elected GOPer with lady parts:
“I don’t think it’s about the Republican Party needing to become more moderate; I really believe it’s the Republican Party becoming more modern,” [Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA),] said. “And whether it’s Hispanics, whether it’s women, whether it’s young people, the Republican Party has to make it a priority to take our values, to take our vision to every corner of this country.”

1). Sorry, Laura (Wait! Hell no, I’m not!) but racism was already tried during the election campaign, and you can see how well that worked for you.
2). Yes, but Obama deserves his mandate because his opposition was so feeble-witted that they chose a poopy-head as a candidate. Think of what they will choose for the country if Obama doesn’t have his mandate.
3). All the GOP need, is some twisted strategy which makes Latinos’ vote against their own interest and support draconian anti immigration legislation, women to embrace forced pregnancy and submission of their bodies to a higher male authority, and gays to accept that they are wrong and throw themselves upon the mercy of the Religious Reich for guidance. What’s so difficult? It’s working with the Tea Party.
