RIP, Robert Bork

Failed Supreme Court Justice nominee and reactionary wingnuttian hero Robert Bork has shuffled off to his reward. This is one of those cases where the Senate’s Advise and Consent clause worked out in our favor by borking Bork.

However, Bork probably got the last laugh: Fat Tony was the one who was approved almost immediately without much discussion, following Bork’s extraordinary flame-out.

The only nice thing I can think to say about this excrescence is that the man was sound on the subject of martinis. Fair Warning: the link takes you to NRO, the most intellectually dishonest rest stop on the Information Super Highway.

Well, he had that goin’ for him. Which was nice.

Of course, if we’d have allowed Bork to join the court instead of chasing him off to obscurity, Obama would be replacing a right wing ideologue today instead of waiting for Scalia to croak…

Have some more sausage and prosciutto, Tony.

Believe me, I was there, it would have been twenty plus years of sheer hell…the guy was nuts (except about Martinis I am told.
