News Briefs

News you can use all day

(Petunia and Pals) Petunia and Pals encourages everyone to “get smarter and be honest with yourselves.”

Happy inauguration day and Martin Luther King Day (observed), even though the Other Dumb One tells us that it is the saddest day of the year (and was four years ago, too; coincidence?)

  • That frothy mix of lube and fecal matter Cardinal Rick Santorum, star columnist of World Nut Daily, tells us that armor-piercing bullets are a right as Americans. (Raw Story)
  • Meanwhile New Mexico teenager Nehemiah Griego likely used an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle in the shooting of his family on Saturday, and in Texas 43-year-old Kelly Suckla shot and killed his estranged wife and then himself while attending his 16-year old daughter’s birthday party.
  • But it’s OK because Sen. John Barrasso (R-NRA) dismissed The Kenyan Usurper’s push for new gun safety legislation during an interview with CNN’s Candy Crowley on Sunday.

“That gets beside the major issues that face American families, which are jobs and the economy and the debt and spending.”

I don’t know a single American family that is more concerned about US Debt and Spending over gun violence. (Think Progress)

The president since his reelection has been joyless and irritable, taking pleasure only in taunting his political opponents.

You know that these gun victims, as they bleed out, are grateful that the deficit is being addressed.
