In reference to the troubles of Blam-blam’s horse in the first panel, you may be interested in the following from the 1916 edition of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Special Report on Diseases of the Horse, p. 168:

“Some stallions acquire this vicious habit, simulating the sexual instinct to the discharge of semen by rubbing the penis against the belly or between the fore limbs. The only remedy is a mechanical one, the fixing of a net under the penis in such fashion as to prevent the extension of the penis or so prick the organ as to compel the animal to desist through pain.” Which, I think we can agree, would be Blam-blam’s solution.

but much MORE seriously, thanks for all you do in providing us (well, i don’t know if i’m an official ‘scissorhead’ but i would definitely like to consider myself one despite my occasional temper tantrum and whatnot … ) with Glorious Snark. that’s the only way i can think to describe it.
