Vote!
Folks -
I’m moving this up, again. And I am going to be more specific: you must, Must, MUST vote for Driftglass. Lookit, I said it in the comments (kinda-sorta): if Drifty loses to some freakin’ Pajama’s Media neocon, anti-choice, racist, homophobic, supply-side, pro-Chimpy, pro-Blam-Blam, Alberto-Gonzoles wet-dreamin’, Ann-Coulter worshipping, Phyllis-Schlafly nasty-licking, John-Bolton fellating, nutjobber of the first order, then the terrorists will have won.
UPDATE: Drifty is pulling ahead! See? Proof that your vote does count!
I doubt that many other blogs of the (miniscule) size of MPS have so many notable commentors that are included in this annual “best of the best”. I’m damn flattered that so many fine bloggers find the time to visit here and weigh in on the snarky matters of the day.
Besides Drifty, there are other known Scissorheads to vote for including:
- Christopher – From the Left
- Blue Gal – Blue Gal
- The Bad Astronomer – Bad Astronomy
- Maude Newton – Maude Newton
- Patriot Boy – Jesus General
The Weblog awards are up – please go vote for your favorite blogs. You are allowed to vote daily. From each computer. (heheheheheh….)
So go do your duty.

Wahhh – no Mockpaperscissors – life is not so good – regardless of the fact that I have been “trapped” on the Big Island for two weeks. wahhhh

DRIFTGLASS!!!! Vote!!!!
I’ll second that, Rehctaw: if the damn Pajama’s Media’s whore, The Anchoress wins this, it will be a low day for left Blogistan. Rgds, T.G.
I’ve voted in two categories so far: for CHRISTOPHER’S FROM THE LEFT in his category and for an old high-school’s friend’s spot on another. I’ll probably vote for the Venezuelan economics blog for Best Latino. And I’ll be back with my full list.
May I blogwhore for a friend? My pal Maud is up for best literature blog–Maud Newton. If you wouldn’t mind, a few more votes wouldn’t hurt.
Duly noted, Pissed, and voted for. Rgds, T.G>
The friend’s blog was Atlargely.com…happy to vote for Maud Newton…The best liberal category was tough; I went with Glenn Greenwald. I went with the GuardianUK for Best Blog because they are one of the few newspapers which know how to blog. And I went with The Field Negro in whatever category he was in. And Boston Soul for sports. None of the conservative ones I liked were on there.
Maud Newton: CHECK. Other than that, the only ones I remember voting for were: MARK CUBAN for best celeb, CDP for best 0-50. DILBERT for best comic. PAM’S HOUSE BLEND for best LGBT.
Christopher’s accomplishment in getting nominated for BEST POLITICAL COVERAGE, without and ads and no politicking and a strong point of view in a year that seemed to favor right-wing blogs and was decidedly anti-Left, anti-Gay, anti-Latino (except if you opposed either Castro, Chavez or both), and anti-Black, is remarkable.
Christopher’s won it, as far as I’m concerned.
Everybody in the MPS community is better than the stuff that was up there outside the Political and Liberal categories which are naturally going to be the best because they were the first blogs.
Thanks Tengrain and Kelso. Maud doesn’t expect to win, she just doesn’t want to come in last.
A link for Maud Newton

I love you, Tengrain! You put the argument perfectly as usual. xoxoxo
Bush was right?
No, Anchoress. Bush was wrong. And his administration was and is wrong, too.
My vote goes to d r i f t g l a s s.
;>)
Thank you, rehctaw. And Christopher and blue Gal, I’m voting every day.
I just voted for Driftglass.
Kelso, thanks for the kind words and support. My best, Christopher
I don’t understand how Bush can be right, in spite of his declaration as the Decider himself, in every single decision that’s been made in his administration, it seems to me that every single outcome was predetermined by the RNC. We all know who pulls on chimpy’s chains.
He’s never been right because he’s never actually MADE a decision. Lockstep with party policy, for 8 God Awful years.
Driftglass was/is a no brainer for me. I’ve never read the Anchoress’ blog, and now I do not care to.
Thanks tengrain!
Xboxershorts – Welcome to MPS, it is good to have you with us. I agree with your analysis, with one small exception: the RNC does not run Chimpy. I think if there is a puppet-master, it is much more likely to be Blam-Blam. Rgds, T.G.
Tengrain,
Thanks for the link and support.
I’m a small fish in a gigantic pond, up against really huge blogs like Politico and DailyKOS, so I have a snaowball’s chance in actually hell of winning. But the truth is, I’m having a blast and I’m just honored to be mentioned.
Next year, you need a nomination.
Christopher – my pleasure. FTL is a fantastick blog, and deserves to win. The others? Not so much. Rgds, T.G.
I voted and it felt great.
I’m voting! I’m voting! So many fine blogfriends to vote for. Yay!
You can also vote from each different browser ON your computer. Just sayin’
That’s a great point, Betsy.
Since I have at least three browser’s per machine, and I’ve saved all my old Macs for testing purposes… hmmmm, I should move to Chicago!
Regards,
Tengrain
‘…John-Bolton fellating…’
That’s the kind of talk I like, baby
;>)
Going right now.
I’ve been hitting all the Snip-Snips every day. We got two more days to get Driftglass the win and Christopher out of basis points. I’m all-in.
I voted Tengrain.. glad to do my part.
FUCKIN BEAUTIFUL RANT, CHILD.
I voted, honey. Where are you so I can vote for you? Spill. Which category?
Yo, Schartzie, MPS was not a finalist in any of the cateogories in which we were nominated. Sigh. Rgds, T.G.
I’m so convinced these kind of bogus WebBlog Award type polls can be gamed by one side or another that I don’t believe in any of them any more…
I’ve engaged in vote pushing from the left and enjoyed it…I’m not enjoying this push voting from the right…
If there was some way of considering the best of the blogs with all kinds of honest criteria considered I might accept these BEST awards…but now they are useless.
I think the Republicans and right wingers are on the defensive these days, and in gaming the WebBlog Awards they win attention to their inferior sites.
Tell the WebBlogs to reform or go away…
You’re the best, Tengrain. thanks for linking Maud. And good news: Driftglass is now leading by a comfortable margin.
Hey, thanks, you guys!
Maude – any friend of Gina’s is a friend of mine, and an honorary Scissorhead. We’re glad we could help in our small way. Regards, Tengrain
