On the Rougue with Mooselini

As everyone probably knows by now, Mooselini has a book tour coming up to promote her epic tome (and largely ghost-written by a true Wingnut of the first order, Lynn Vincent, a noted racist), Going Rogue.

However, the real news is that the cities she is planning to visit to promote it are not, um, the usual top-tier media outlets: Her three-week book tour launches in Grand Rapids, Mich., on Nov. 18 and takes her to places such as Roanoke, Va.; Bloomington, Minn.; Noblesville, Ind.; Rochester, N.Y.; Fort Bragg, N.C.; Washington, Pa.; and the Villages in Florida, where she drew a crowd of 60,000 in September 2008. I guess that the Lodge in Satan’s Hollow, MO was already booked.

It is interesting, but not unexpected that she plans no events for NY City, Los Angeles, Chicago, and certainly not San Francisco – the usual dens of liberal elitism and media “gotcha” journalism.

But that is not to say that Mooselini is eschewing all the media, she does have some media events planned including interviews with Oprah Winfrey and Barbara Walters, followed by sit-downs on Fox News with Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity and Greta Van Susteren, which will surely whip Wingnuttia into a buying frenzy, you know, for the holidays.

Going Rogue, it seems, also means playing it safe.

However, the book publisher gave Mooselini a 7-figure advance, and so they want a return on their investment. It is not entirely clear what the volume of book sales are going to be in Jeebusland, even when sold to her usual fans and true believers, and even when drummed up by the bleats and dithers of the pillow-cases of Fox News.

It doesn’t matter, Palin’s a maverick, remember? And so she is upping the ante:

There are plenty of ways to move the product. Pledge cards placed on every seat at the event last week promoted a deal: a contribution of $1,000 or more to Wisconsin Right to Life in return for an autographed copy of Palin’s book and membership in a new and as-yet-undefined group, Sarah’s Rogues.

You can read more about Mooselini’s book tour at Time Magazine, which mostly seems to report about it without guile. Amazing.

I hope she cancels her appearance on the show of that sell-out hack Hannity, on bended knee before that Liberal Jew Lieutenant of the Hussein X Gay Muslim Corps.

Keith reported last night that the suckers are getting 5 chapters in that little “tome” – just about enough “depth” to balance the bad leg on the kitchen table.

Those burgs you listed are representative of the “Real America.” Salt of the earth, rock ribbed, hard working white people. You know, morons.

  4. tommyspoon:

Copies have already been purchased by media outlets like WND and Fox and others so they can be offered as “free gifts” when subscribing to their sites. (You’ve probably already seen a few of these web ads, even on MPS!)

The publisher will probably recoup the advance, but just. This book won’t have a long shelf life unless there are some real bombshells tucked within.

Launching the tour in Grand Rapids is obviously a poke in the eye to Mitt Romney as she goes after the Gerald Ford wing of the GOP, old white guys with lots of money hopped up on Viagra .

Didn’t Romney march with Dr. King in Grand Rapids?

    TommySpoon -

I’m pleased to say that MPS remains advertising free (and frankly, you would have to wonder about anyone who would want to advertise here, to the internet’s incorrigible band of spitballers, though personally, I think we are a terrific demographic…

Does the ‘book’ come with (pun intended) a roll of Bounty?
