More jaw-dropping hypocrisy from Wingnuttia? Say it ain’t so:
Mitt Romney is holding a campaign event at a Miami restaurant owned by a convicted cocaine trafficker.
Romney appeared Monday evening at El Palacio de los Jugos, a restaurant owned by Reinaldo Bermudez. Court records show that Mr. Bermudez pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute cocaine in 1999 and served three years in federal prison.
Sure, you say, but the prisons are full of petty drug offenders, and he has served his time, and what is so bad about a little Colombian Nose Candy now and then?
Media reports in November, 1997, said that Mr. Bermudez was one of 12 people accused in a Colombian drug smuggling operation. Agents seized about 1,292.75 kilograms of cocaine at Florida ports.
Oh. That’s entirely different. Never mind.
